I have had a little bit of luck with RUNE the last few weeks, though this in no way offsets the value the rest of my RUNE holdings have dropped, but hey, this is crypto. But, I thought it might be worth having a look at what can happen "at the bottom" (this is unlikely the actual bottom) with some volatility.

Since the volumes differ, I will use the average buy and sell price as the percentage gain or discount on the buy.

12 MAY: bought 890 @ 2343 ~ $2.63 each
(remember when these suckers were at $13 - that was only two months ago!)
And $21 a year ago.

13 MAY: sold 840 @ 3022 ~ $3.59
This is a 36% gain on the previous buy price.

26-27 MAY: bought 800 @ 2105 ~ $2.63
This is buying at 73% of the previous sell price

30 MAY: sold 300 @ 939 ~ $3.13
This is a 19% gain on the previous buy price.

Essentially, if I started with 100 dollars worth and the token price was $1, it would then become $136 at the first sell, using that to buy, 172 tokens at the next buy, selling that for $205. That is a 105% gain in a few weeks. That isn't too shabby!

Now, I haven't sold all that I have bought back, so it could very well drop the arse (doesn't it sound better in real English?) out of it and ruin any gains, but as said - this is crypto.

At least for a short period, it looks like we are in for a little bit of green and wouldn't it be bloody well awesome if the doomsdayers were wrong again and it just kept going up, instead of entering into a bear market?

We are all allowed to dream.

But it is nice to see a bit of this for a change of pace:

I'm sure it will come crashing down soon enough.

But, "soon" is a relative term in crypto, as in general, when people use the term "soon" in terms of going up, that is anywhere between 3 hours away and 3 years away - it is like crypto people have failed to understand the constructs of time, and live in some kind of warped reality where despite the chains they are working upon recording and stamping everything, time itself is a non-event.

Perhaps it is a protection mechanism inbuilt into crypto traders to justify bad trades and poor skills, where it is just a matter of time before the trade looks good - When in doubt, zoom out and all that jazz. Zoom out, just don't look at the timescale too closely...

Or the mirror.

While I have been in crypto for 6 years, it feels like 20 already and my once relatively fit body, has atrophied into that of a 60 year old - but, don't worry

Soon it will all be worth it!

I will just buy a new body. Grow my own perhaps, like in The Island where I can get a Scarlett Johannson body to inhabit -

that doesn't sound too bad either.

Sure, I will spend 50% of my days in the shower, but can you blame me?

Dreams.

As you can see - I am just having a bit of fun here, but what I wanted people to note was that there is always opportunity in this world, regardless of what the markets are doing. On Hive, no matter the price, it is a good time to be active. When prices are low and recessions are on the way, it is a good time to tighten belts early and save a little for buying the lows. All of these seemingly small amounts get quite large when what you are buying are going 10x from that bottom, no matter if it takes 6 days or six years.

Just remember,

Soon it will be okay.

One way or another, life always works its way out to a result and while it doesn't always swing in our favor, it is good not to take it all too seriously, at least not all of the time. I tend to be a relatively serious character online, but in real life - I am twice as serious!

Okay, maybe not.

But, it is nice to have a couple decent percentage trades, even though the amounts might not be overly lifechanging for me at the local level. And this is what everyone should consider in terms of their own successes and failures - what does it mean to you, for you? Too many compare themselves to others who might be in very different circumstances, but feel that sense of competition or, jealousy. Trust me when I say, you don't want to walk in my shoes on a day to day basis, and I probably won't fit into yours either.

The markets do what they do, but don't tie your identity or self-worth to whether they are green or red. Build something and behave in a way that makes you feel good about yourself instead. If you think it requires becoming wealthy - you might have to ensure your investment strategy is supporting that end, rather than just hoping and leaving it up to chance.

But, while there is an end somewhere, getting there is where life is lived.

With or without a Scarlett Johansson body to live in.
