Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well!!
When you become an aspiring artist, you face the problem of acquiring the right equipment. These are, of course, paints, brushes, canvases, sketchbooks. So it was with me. But then came the moment when I thought about the easel!

We were just in the Art Store and I decided to look at the prices for them. In my country it is not very expensive but not cheap either.

My husband carefully examined the proposed models of easels...

... and asked why I need it: for the floor or for the table. Of course I don't need a huge easel, I was thinking about a tabletop model. Then he said that he understood how to do it himself. I was surprised and a little time passed and I really got a DIY easel!

Once my husband and I were returning home and near one of the houses we saw something wooden, small, that the owners put it out as unnecessary. It looked like a highchair for shoes or an upside-down box without side edges. I didn't take a picture of it, but it looked something like this:

There were also slats on the bottom sides. It was thrown away because one of the slats at the top broke and there was a hole. My husband didn't mind and he took it home. One day I returned from the clinic in the morning and saw that my husband was already working hard on the easel 馃槷
So what do we need to make an easel with our own hands besides such a wooden box? Wine corks, pieces of thick leather, self-tapping screws.

First we unscrew the extra parts. This box was very well made so it was easy to make.

Next, we fasten together the main part and the two rear legs (these are the two former, lower, side bars). We fix them together with screws and pieces of thick leather. To prevent the easel from falling, we fix both parts from below with a strip of thick leather (we had white skin).

We fix a strip of leather to both parts with the help of self-tapping screws and a piece of a cut off wine cork.

Thanks to this, the back legs of the easel do not move apart from the main part. The next step is to make the holders of the bar on which the canvas should stand. My husband had to cut off pieces of the bar a little so that it fits well on the holders.

All finished! My easel is ready! 馃榾

I did not expect my husband to do it so quickly! I am delighted!!! 馃拑馃拑馃拑

We tried to put a canvas. Great!!!! Canvas can be placed both horizontally and vertically.

Thanks to the fact that my husband made the easel himself, we saved the cost of at least 7-8 tubes of 120ml acrylic paint!
(all photos are taken by me)

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
