Bandeja sorpresa de desayuno: Tutorial | Surprise Breakfast Tray: Tutorial 😍✂️
Hello chicos, cómo van? Por aquí dándome cuenta que no les había compartido el paso a paso de la elaboración de una bandeja de desayuno que estuve armando hace unos días para nuestro emprendimiento Detallitos Dulces. Así que el post de hoy, es para mostrarles lo que fue el proceso de armado de este pedido súper especial de una de nuestras clientas más antiguas.
Cuando trabajamos con manualidades y detalles, cada elemento cuenta para que el resultado final sea lo más lindo y prolijo posible, y muchas veces ni nos imaginamos todo el amor y el trabajo que hay detrás de cada cosita que creamos con nuestras manos. Este trabajo en particular casi me hace llorar, y es que el armado de los globos (los nudos), me cuesta un montón y termino con los dedos súper lastimados, pero al final todo el esfuerzo vale la pena.
Hi, everyone, how are you doing? I just realized I hadn’t shared the step-by-step process of making a breakfast tray, which I put together a few days ago for our business, Detallitos Dulces. So today’s post is to show you the process behind creating this super special order for one of our longest-standing customers.
When we work with crafts and little details, every element counts to make sure the final result is as beautiful and neat as possible, and often we don’t even realize all the love and work that goes into every little thing we create with our own hands. This particular project almost made me cry—tying the balloons (the knots) is really hard for me, and I end up with my fingers really sore, but in the end, all the effort is worth it.
Para este proyecto, la clienta me pidió una temática muy elegante, por lo que decidí trabajar con una paleta de colores en azul metálico, plateado y negro. En este caso el reto principal era lograr armar un arco de globos que me convenciera, porque como saben soy bastante perfeccionista y siempre busco que todo tenga una estética bien prolija hasta por detrás 😂
Así que puse manos a la obra y como base para los globos y el topper de "feliz cumpleaños" armé una estructura usando un disco de torta bien firme como base interna para garantizar un buen soporte, también decoré el borde de la caja de madera con cinta para darle un toque especial, y finalmente la hermosa decoración de globos que me costó sangre, sudor y lágrimas. Pero paremos de hablar y vamos con todo lo que se necesita para el armado y por supuesto el paso a paso.
For this project, the client asked me for a very elegant theme, so I decided to work with a color palette of metallic blue, silver, and black. In this case, the main challenge was to create a balloon arch that I was truly satisfied with, because as you know, I’m quite a perfectionist and I always make sure everything looks neat and polished—even from the back 😂
So I got to work, and as a base for the balloons and the “Happy Birthday” topper, I built a structure using a very sturdy cake board as the inner base to ensure good support. I also decorated the edge of the wooden box with ribbon to give it a special touch, and finally, the beautiful balloon decoration that took blood, sweat, and tears to create. But enough talk—let’s get into everything you need for the assembly and, of course, the step-by-step guide.

Paso a paso / Step by step
El primer paso fue crear el fondo rígido que sostendría el arco de globos, y la idea inicial era comprar una base negra, pero luego de recorrer diferentes lugares y no encontrarla, tuve que comprar una dorada, y cartulina negra para tener mi fondo negro, así que lo primero que hice fue transformar la base dorada en una negra.
Para esto, tomé el disco dorado y lo usé como plantilla sobre la cartulina negra, remarcando todo el borde ondulado con un lápiz de color blanco y luego lo recorté con mucha paciencia y cuidado, porque encima no encontré bases de bordes lisos 🫠
Una vez que tuve la silueta de cartulina lista, agregué suficiente pega en barra sobre el disco dorado y pegué la cartulina negra presionando firmemente con las manos para evitar arrugas, y de esta manera, tuve el fondo completamente negro que necesitaba.
The first step was to create the rigid background that would support the balloon arch. My initial idea was to buy a black base, but after searching several places and not finding one, I had to buy a gold one instead, along with black cardstock to create my black background. So, the first thing I did was turn the gold base into a black one.
To do this, I took the gold disc and used it as a template on the black cardstock, tracing the entire wavy edge with a white pencil, and then I cut it out with a lot of patience and care, because I couldn’t find any bases with smooth edges 🫠
Once I had the cardboard silhouette ready, I applied enough glue stick to the gold disc and attached the black cardstock, pressing firmly with my hands to avoid wrinkles. That way, I had the completely black background I needed.
Con nuestra base lista, el siguiente paso fue fijarla a la parte trasera de la bandeja de madera, cosa que hice con el silicón caliente para asegurar que quedara bien firme, y listo este paso, antes de empezar a colocar los globos, quise darle un detalle de acabado que para mí es súper importante, y es colocar la cinta decorativa negra alrededor de toda la caja de madera con un lazo, esto lo hago con una doble intención: en principio hacer que se vea más linda y en segundo lugar cubrir cualquier imperfección que tenga la caja, además le da un toquecito de elegancia.
With our base ready, the next step was to attach it to the back of the wooden tray, which I did with hot glue to make sure it was really secure. Once that step was done, before I started placing the balloons, I wanted to add a finishing touch that’s super important to me: which is wrapping black decorative ribbon around the entire wooden box and tying it in a bow. I do this for two reasons: first, to make it look prettier, and second, to cover up any imperfections the box might have—plus, it adds a touch of elegance.
Luego de asegurar la cinta, pasamos a la parte más divertida (un poquito de sarcasmo 🫠) los globos! Para armar el arco, inflé los globos en tamaños pequeños y fui uniendo de a cuatro para formar los cuartetos. Esto lo hacemos dividiendo cada globo en dos y luego uniéndo dos. Para el armado como tal fui intercalando globos tonos azules, negros y plateados para crear un contraste hermoso.
Para finalizar, fui entrelazando y fijando con mucho cuidado los cuartetos de globos alrededor de la base negra, con ayuda de la pistola de silicón, para lograr esa forma de medio arco orgánico que está en tendencia hace un tiempo ya, no sin antes quitar y ponerlos un millón de veces!
After securing the ribbon, we moved on to the most fun part (just a little sarcasm 🫠)—the balloons! To assemble the arch, I inflated the balloons to a small size and joined them in groups of four to form quartets. We did this by dividing each balloon in half and then joining a pair together. For the arrangement itself, I alternated between blue, black, and silver balloons to create a beautiful contrast.
Finally, we carefully intertwined and secured the balloon quartets around our black base using a hot glue gun to achieve that trendy, organic half-arch shape.
El toque final y el encargado de darle un plus súper especial a esta bandeja de desayuno fue el hermoso topper de "Happy Birthday" en tono plateado que ubiqué justo en el centro del fondo negro, haciendo que resalte muchísimo gracias al contraste de colores.
Ya lo que sigue es colocar dentro todos los componentes del desayuno, y en este caso nos pidieron la baby cake en una cajita, y de eso se encargó mi esposo porque tampoco encontramos las acrílicas que están en tendencia, pero esta quedó preciosa, y una vez estuvo todo en su lugar corté tiras delgadas de papel de seda negro y distribuir por toda la bandeja para darle un poco más de vida.
Y listo! Miren qué belleza de resultado. Una bandeja firme, prolija por donde la veas y lista consentir al cumpleañero en su día.
The finishing touch—and what really gave this breakfast tray that extra special something—was the beautiful silver "Happy Birthday" topper that I placed right in the center of the black background, making it stand out so much thanks to the color contrast.
Next, it was time to arrange all the breakfast items on the tray. In this case, they asked us to present the mini cake in a little box, and my husband took care of that since we couldn’t find the trendy acrylic containers either—but this one turned out gorgeous. Once everything was in place, I cut thin strips of black tissue paper and scattered them across the tray to add a little more life to it.
And that’s it! Look at this gorgeous result. A sturdy tray, neat from every angle, and ready to spoil the birthday boy on his special day.
Luego de ver el resultado final la verdad me sentí feliz y pensé "el sufrimiento con los globos valió la pena!".
After seeing the final result, I was really happy and thought, "All that hassle with the balloons was worth it!".
