During a walk I noticed this dog.
Lying quietly behind a gate.
Only the nose and part of the face visible below the wood.
Watching the world through a narrow gap.
I stopped for a moment and spoke to him.
Asked him if he was bored.
No barking. No movement.
Just lying there and looking.
Sometimes animals don’t need many reactions.
Just observing.
Maybe waiting for someone to return. Maybe simply enjoying the sun and the passing moments.
A calm scene.
A curious nose pressed close to the outside world.
And for a short moment two walkers sharing the same path.
One passing by. One staying behind.
Observed while moving. Left unfinished.
