The very first compass was invented before our era in China.
At the beginning of the 13th century, the compass became known to Europeans.
At first, the compass consisted of a magnetized needle and a piece of wood floating in a vessel of water. Soon they guessed to close this vessel with glass to protect the float from the wind.
XVII century. the compass was equipped with a direction finder - a rotating ruler with sighting devices at the ends.
I decided to compined compas with octopus tentacles.
