Hello everyone! It is officially the Inktober month and today is the first day. Inktober is a yearly art prompt and event that takes place for the entire month of October. I have never really participated before. I thought of trying it at least on the first day this year. The prompt for today is 'Apple'.

I didn't think much of it because the Inktober challenge is supposed to be about discipline and consistency. It is about showing up daily and we need to just get on with the ink and start drawing. That's what I did and I just chose a simple apples in a bowl artwork. I started off by sketching the bowl.

Then, I started adding the apples. I drew three at first and added many more after that. Basically as many as the big bowl can contain. I just wanted it to look full.

After that, I added some details to the bowl. I just drew more lines to make it look somewhat 3 dimensional.

I added a little cloth at the bottom because there was some empty space in the drawing. I wanted to fill it up with something. I just scribbled a design on the cloth. However I thought the cloth needs some shadow too so I did some cross hatches on it. Honestly, I didn't even know what I was doing and it was mostly spontaneous. Then, I also added some shadows on the apples by drawing little lines on them.

I could not stand the sight of just neutral coloured artwork. So I added a pop of colour. I rummaged through my pencil case and found a red pen that worked. I just added some red inked lines to the apples and the drawing came to life. Well, I would like to believe so. I was finally satisfied with the outcome. I'm happy to be able to participate on the first day of Inktober. I hope to continue to do so.

Thank you for dropping by! Wishing you a wonderful day ahead, or a good night. It is my bed time now so I am going off to Dreamland.
