Manasi was built by the despot Stefan Lazarevic, also known as Visoki Stefan. Many believe that his relics are today in this monastery, more precisely in the southern part of the monastery church under a white marble slab. The construction of the monastery began in 1407 and was completed in 1418.
The entrance to the church that has been restored and the frescoes have been restored...
Very soon the monastery became a cultural center. Learned monks brought by Constantine the philosopher copied books, translated and wrote...
The Resava school, as it was then called, became a center of culture and literacy that spread further...
The monastery survived several wars, was restored and is being restored.
It also became a women's monastery, and then a sleeping area was added.
In this area, near the entrance, there is a monastery shop, where you can buy icons and various decorations with Orthodox motifs... As well as rosaries and necklaces, incense...
In one part of the monastery, on the side of the church.. There is a metal ladder up to the wall that leads to the door and where you can walk on the wall... But the door is locked and I couldn't walk.. But that's why taking photos from the stairs was worth every climb..
Next to the church is the most well-preserved one of the citizens, which was a refectory with rooms for monks...
I took a detailed walk around the courtyard of the monastery.. And admired the walls that resist the test of time..
There is also a coat of arms that was located across from the church
The day was gray and the monastery itself seemed to have turned gray.. It is more beautiful in the sun...
That's it for tonight
Thank you very much for visiting my blog 😁
Have a nice evening ✨✨✨
