Egg did it...
Yes, the cracked one did it…
It opened Pandora's Box and revealed quite a few secrets.
Well, I still carry snakes, whether be it my bag or my head. What Egg @sarashew wasn't expecting while giving me the nickname Medusa was the fact that I'd love it - and yes, I do love it. She’s just acting out because I call her cracked Egg and dimbo deem and just a few days ago, I called her Dingus Dimbo - they’re fabulous, right? Medusa may have had her head chopped off in ancient times, but do you think anyone would chop her head off in this age and time? (me gulps audibly) Yea, I don't think so.
Some would say that nicknames are given to show affection or importance to a person and some would say that the names are given just for fun. Perhaps they're a bit of both. Over the years I have gotten plenty of nicknames - two handfuls of them were from my family. Many of the nicknames that I have been given were quite embarrassing, and a few were quite cute.
Regardless of whatever reasons, I like my nicknames customized.
Surrealfia is what I go by here - surreal + Fia. Fia happens to be a nickname given to me by my friends - the reason behind it was that my best friend and I share the same name. And when called out by our name, we both used to respond at the same time. So our other friends came up with a solution, chop the name in half and give a piece to each - how very clever it was!
When I was a kid my (belated) father used to call me Guddu since I was a chubby but very cute-looking baby (that's what he used to say). The cutest nickname I got so far is Bubbie (not boobie) - this one has been given to me by my niece. Oh trust me she got quite a few nicknames from me too - among those are Ana coco banana, Fohinni (which means homeless beggar), Spupid (stupid of stupid), Bubbie ka bacchu (bubbie's child) and so on.
I have never been fond of being called baby or babe but yes, there are only 2 people in my world who get to call me that and I like it. I have a very dear friend of mine who I call Qoobee and when I get annoyed with him, I call him Choshmuddin and in return he gave me Jiji (it’s a black cat) and Sillyuddin - and also he calls me Fianath and in return I attached “nath” in his name.
I'm definitely not going to reveal my most embarrassing nickname – I have this cousin who used to call me ”Tommy” and it was because my pet name rhymes with the name of the neighbor’s dog “Tommy.” Now, don’t laugh. One very funny nickname that I got from my ”Prodigal Brother” was Fohinnin Ganju (homeless beggar weed smoker) – he’s also the one circling the rumors in Discord that I’m a witch – from there came many more. Worry not – I have given him quite a few as well and among those are ”Kiddopompasaurous” (just made it up) and ”Magur mach” (a very slippery fish). Oh I almost forgot about Sam @drivingindevon, - no I didn’t give her that nickname but I give her plenty of Sam Winchester and Samwise Gamgee gifs (I do adore her a lot).
Damn it, I have no chill. I made it too long. And this also reminds me I’m way past deadline - but I don’t mind. It was one hell of a looking at the past moment.
