Last week was a lot. Considering the holiday is fast approaching, it's been a little hectic at work; meeting deadlines, wrapping up unfinished business and generally putting things in order, before the break.

I've been managing fine. Putjng in all the work necessary because I cannot afford to take work home or have spillovers.
Tragically, on Tuesday last week my phone fell. I didn't expect to it to have a huge impact since the height of fall was not much. Maybe I forgot I had neither pouch not screen guard. And when I picked it up, the screen had damaged to an extent.
It still worked fine when I used it and I thought to manage it so until I could have it fixed. On Thursday it began to act up . The touch wasn't functional on all parts and required I used screen rotate to navigate. That's hard life.
I managed through and on Saturday morning, I journeyed to the phone villa here. Was my first time there. After walking around a bit, not wanting anyone to sense my reservations, scanning the area for an artisan who I would feel safe handing my phone to, I met this guy that fit a little, we exchanged salutes and I told him why I was there.
He walked me into a shop and I handed the phone to him. While he uncoupled it, I noticed a man sitting outside(opposite the shop) who was staring at me. I said hello and turned back to my guy. He told me there were a couple things wrong and it would cost me. When he mentioned the price, I was stunned. I hadn't expected that amount but I still had to get the phone repaired. But first, I voiced my irritation at the huge price. And then something totally interesting and unexpected happened.
He excused himself and went out to meet the other guy who had been staring. They both walked in and my guy said, "this is my oga, he will be the one to work your phone." I was a bit confused but understand he was an oso-ahia boy.
The oga asked me questions all over again and I answered. He asked how much his apprentice had asked me to pay and I mentioned. He told me to not worry, but to pay a lesser amount. I was shocked. At first I thought the other apprentice guy had called huge figures for me inorder to make some gain from it and his oga was being honest.
When I asked why he took almost 20% off the amount when I would have paid anyways, he told me, "you no remember me?(don't you remember me?). You don help me before" I was surprised. I stared at him but couldn't even place the face. I replied in the negative.
Then he tried to remind me how he'd walked up to me at a busstop I was waiting to catch a bus and told me he was stranded and I gave him some money. He went on to say that that day, he had asked a couple people before me, who had declined him. He wasn't sure I'd help but wanted to try still. I was short of words.
I remembered some random guy asking me for money which I did give. That day I wasn't ready to start asking questions or anything. I was in no mood for talk. I was both surprised and elated. It felt real good.
"You be better person. Na God go bless you," he added. I just kept mute. There was nothing I could say. I left there with my phone all done good and in high spirits. I guess kindness is still golden. And all I could think of going home was "what a small world."
Thanks for stopping by.
