I see mental health as one health issue that has suddenly increased in recent time, and not just only in the work places, but all around human existence. Maybe this is due to how things has turned out around the world π with fast paced lifestyle of the 21st century and challenges from inflation that is killing dreams that many has.
And the issue here is the lack of awareness in knowing those who are suffering from mental health since its does not deal with a physical appearance of a anyone suffering from it, but involves emotion and mental well-being. So this has become a big danger to some many who are involved, fighting and trying to keep going just on their own even when being drained and tearing apart because its not a physical sickness that can be noticed.
Should workers who are suffering from mental health take leave days to attend to their mental health just like those who are sick physically take sick leave? This a question I will say capital βYESβ to, even while knowing that some people can use this chance or opportunity given to them to hinder work flow and at the same time abuse the privilege if terms and conditions are not set. But I believe that no human in his or her right mindedness will want to joke with a means where he earns to settle and pay bills π΅.
I mean π’ that any right thinking person can not want to jeopardize work because he is suffering from mental health, so any one who wants to take days off or take a leave of absence from work knows that he or she is being granted that because something must have been noticed or noted from his or her behavior which is not ordinary.
Unlike physical sickness where the person involved is physical down and not capable of functioning or disposable,mental health is twice as dangerous as people can understand, where people are being drained mentally and emotionally without anyone knowing because they are moving physical but right inside them, they are almost given up. This is why terms and conditions should be set in offices to help those who are suffering inwardly, involving first to consult with a health counseling therapist who will look into the issues of sound mind and worries of the person involved. Then will forward report to the office to enable the person take off days or weeks to regain his or herself.
Its very obvious that humans are over working themselves in the bid to meet up daily, weekly and monthly demands mostly associated with work place. And this routine is due to life challenges of making a living to keep existing. So humans are not just suffering from physical stress, breakdown or exhaustion, but also mentally which can be deadly because it has to do with the brain π§ and inner human system which is not functioning at its best.
So our perception should go beyond not just seeing that someone is sick when itβs physical but watch people and notice when they are properly functioning in their best mood and when we see something wrong π in a person we know very well, because sometimes, many who are suffering mentally just canβt stop until someone tells them. This is why days should be considered taken off by workers, especially those who are involved in some technicals, technologies hospital surgeons and many others who work long hours month to month.
In conclusion, since abuse might be involved in this kind of settings like I mentioned earlier, terms and conditions should also be place whereby a companies consultant will be in charge of issuing notice of leave of a person found worthy of mental health leave of absence from work. This process will definitely make things work properly and officially, enabling the organizations permit of days of leave to the worker involved.
