Can you believe that it is the third week of June already? I feel like life is zooming by now that summer is officially here. Many of the flowers were bursting with blossoms this week, so I will share some with you to start the week off.
The daisies and border zinnias are filling in the front of the butterfly garden.
The yellow daisy's first flower started to open while the Shasta daisies were already in full swing.
The pink Monarda has also filled out and before I know it those will be done blooming for the summer. The bees love gathering nectar from the flowers. So far I have only seen two Swallowtails and one Monarch butterfly in the garden this week. I am hoping that they show up soon to enjoy all the plants.
Some of the Daylilies started to bloom and the Asiatic lily on the right dropped all her petals, ;-( She is done until next year.
Some Snapdragons I started from seed have finally become big enough to bloom. I have them scattered about a few different gardens hoping to attract pollinators to the vegetable patch.
A few of the Delphinium, Salvia, and Foxglove are still doing well. The peach Foxglove is from the seed I started back in early March. I am so happy that they are going to bloom this summer. I really love the soft pastels in the butterfly garden this year.
Some of the border Zinnia plants are bushing out and I imagine they will be a nice size by the end of July. I will save seeds from these plants this year to enjoy again in 2025.
When trimming some tomato plants I saw the Clematis blooming on the trellis. I almost missed seeing her flowers due to the rainy days.
The Impatiens I grew are getting overtaken by all the ferns next to the back porch.
At least the Impatiens in the hanging baskets are nice and full. I have already started gathering seeds from them as I grow them every year. They do so nicely on the North side of the house with all the shade.
The little Fushia plant on the table is full of buds and flowers. I just adore having her next to me while sitting on the porch with Mika.
