Oh My! I can not believe how quickly my vegetable plants have grown. We had back-to-back thunderstorms and the garden is out of control. I will do my best to show some comparisons from one week to the next.
Chinese Cabbage
I may have planted the cabbage a little close together. It has filled in nicely and I may have to trim off some of the outer leaves to make a fresh batch of Kimchee.
Red Romaine
The lettuce has really filled in and the buttercrunch lettuce is getting nice and round. I will be enjoying some of it this week for sure.
Roma Tomatoes
These tomato plants grew a foot in one week and I had to trim off the lower leaves and clip them onto the panels. A couple of them had fallen over due to the hard rains but I manage to save them. The eggplant is growing nicely too and all of them have new leaves which is a good sign. Soon they will start budding and I will add bamboo stakes next to them for support.
Veggies Are Starting
I am so excited that I already have Roma and Cherry tomatoes growing. The Red Marconi Peppers are all setting buds too.
The Herb Bed
I have already harvested some herbs twice now and yesterday I actually had to thin it out a bit as it was crowding out my radish seedlings.
Chard and Snow Peas
The Snow Peas are full of buds and peas which will be perfect for lunch today along with some fresh, organic lettuce. I have blossoms on my Zucchini plants and now the Swiss Chard is taking off nicely and soon I will be cutting the largest ones for dinner. How could anyone not love growing their own food? At least I know that there are no chemicals put on any of my gardens which makes my family very happy indeed.
Asian Greens
These Asian Greens have been cut back two times and are still producing beautifully. I love them mixed in with my salads but I did choose to dry a lot of them and turn them into powder.
I have been making a Super Greens Powder mix out of different greens from the garden. The powder will be packed with dense nutrients for smoothies and other dishes.
Swiss Chard
