Another round of flower photos is about to get deleted from my library. Today, I will share a few more that I have taken from different areas of my gardens over the past few years.
Trumpet Vine
As much as I loved this vine growing up on one of my birdhouse posts, the roots underground traveled all throughout my garden. It took me two years of carefully digging them out to finally kill the aggressive vine. It was so hard for me since it was so beautiful in bloom and the Hummingbirds loved it so.
Black Eyed Susan Vine
This is an annual vine that I grow every year and it is always so pretty growing on one of my trellises.
Clematis Vine
This Clematis has been in the garden for over 5 years now. I am not sure if it will come back next spring as my husband accidentally cut it off at ground level. I am going to miss this beauty for sure.
Honeysuckle Vine
This one is always a favorite of the visiting Hummingbirds and I would never be without one of them just for that reason.
Deutzia Magician
This is a shrub that blooms every spring and is loaded with these pretty pink flower clusters. I adore having it in my garden and all summer long its weeping branches provide some shade where I plant some lettuce nearby.
Weigela
I planted this shrub years ago when I moved into this home and I have trimmed it back every year. Each spring to early summer it is covered with beautiful flowers. I love this shrub because the deer never seem to bother it like some of the others in my yard.
Weigela Wine & Roses
Unfortunately, this shrub has struggled since the day I put it in a shade garden. The soil in that garden is full of clay and I don't think it appreciates the dense soil.
Miniature Rose
I think this little rosebush is the sweetest little plant. It is only about 1 1/2 feet high with tiny red roses every summer. My mother gave it to me for my birthday one year and it holds a special place in my heart.
Daylilies
I have many different varieties of Daylily scattered throughout my gardens. They are a delightful flower that blooms during the summer months. Each one is so different from another and are all beautiful in their own way.
Asiatic Lily
This is another flower that I have not had for a few years now. I love the Asiatic and Oriental lilies but have a hard time controlling the red beetles that devour the buds. I may just grow a few again this summer and research the best way to deal with the insects.
Iris
I am down to only two Iris which is something I also want to replenish. I love the tall variety but have lost many over the years due to root rot from bacteria. I may have to find a few this year as well. My list of replacement plants is getting longer.
Fritillaria
Also known as Guinea Hen Flower, this one grows next to my backyard pond and I have noticed that this one has decreased in size over the past two years. Perhaps it is just one more plant that has run its course and I will have to find a replacement.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my flower photos before I delete them forever. I have mentioned in previous posts that I am going to start a brand-new collection starting this spring.
