Even though I invest in physical silver mainly as a store of value, I do enjoy picking up silver with cool designs as well. Take this new 2ozt fine silver round from the Golden State Mint and their Silver Shield Minimintage line of silver.

I really like the minimintage program as it creates a rarity not found in most other silver rounds. All minimintage rounds are sold before they are minted so there is a finite number of rounds. They sell them for 7 days and then they don't sell them again.

Here is a look at a few rounds and their mintage numbers.

Take that one on top for instance, a 2ozt silver round with a mintage of just 676! Compared to the mintages of the mass-produced rounds this is next to nothing.
That 2ozt silver round originally sold for $42 (and the copper round sold for $4.50) when it was in pre-sale on the Golden State Mint website. Let's take a look at what they are going for on eBay at the moment.

That's a nice return on investment right there!
