Hola, espero que a diferencia de mi estén teniendo un agradable día. Digo esto porque desde anoche Ellie ha estado vomitando constantemente, la noche fue muy ruda y larga para ambas, ella amaneció sumamente débil, yo extremadamente cansada y preocupada, como podrán imaginar.

Contacté al veterinario en la mañana, le expliqué brevemente la situación y nos dió cita para una hora más tarde, hice todos los arreglos necesarios para asistir a la cita, una vez allá y en medio de la examinación, el Dr. Luis me realiza un par de preguntas y llega a la conclusión de que la causa de los vómitos se originó por la ingesta de algo no apropiado.

I contacted the vet in the morning, I briefly explained the situation and he gave us an appointment for an hour later, I made all the necessary arrangements to attend the appointment, once there and in the middle of the examination, Dr. Luis asked me a couple of questions and came to the conclusion that the cause of the vomiting originated from the ingestion of something inappropriate.

Y todo el que ha convivido con cachorros lo suficiente sabe que por más minuciosos que tratemos de ser, ellos igualmente encuentran algo que no deben, ya sea únicamente para morderlo o bien para tratar de ingerirlo. La verdad es bastante complicado porque al ser pequeños se escabullen y escapan fácilmente, más si saben que le quitaremos algo que han encontrado ya que para ellos no es más que una presa, no conocen lo peligroso que pueden llegar a ser algunas cosas y no es de extrañar.

El caso es que le recetaron 0,5ml de Ranitidina cada 12 horas y la misma cantidad de Metoclopramida cada 8 horas durante 3 días. Así mismo dieta líquida por el día de hoy, asopados el día de mañana y luego empezar a dar la comida normal, que en el caso de Ellie es perrarina K-nina para cachorros de todos los tamaños, sabor carne, cereales y arroz, de la marca Purina.

She was prescribed 0.5ml of Ranitidine every 12 hours and the same amount of Metoclopramide every 8 hours for 3 days. Also liquid diet for today, asopados tomorrow and then start giving normal food, which in the case of Ellie is perrarina K-nina for puppies of all sizes, meat flavor, cereals and rice, Purina brand.

La hidratación es mediante suero de zanahoria, agua de coco o Pedialite. Bien sea cada 3 horas 40ml o 13ml cada hora, únicamente en la presencia de vómitos. Hasta el momento han pasado unas 7 horas desde la consulta y Ellie ha recibido una dosis de cada ampolla, una de Ranitidina a las 10:00am suministrada por el Dr. Luis y una dosis de Metoclopramida a las 2:00pm suministrada por mi madre, aquí en casa.

Hydration is by means of carrot whey, coconut water or Pedialite. Every 3 hours 40ml or 13ml every hour, only in the presence of vomiting. So far it has been about 7 hours since the consultation and Ellie has received one dose of each ampoule, one of Ranitidine at 10:00am given by Dr. Luis and one dose of Metoclopramide at 2:00pm given by my mother, here at home.

Ellie se encuentra bastante tranquila en este momento, demasiado en realidad... ella es muy activa normalmente y es realmente extraño que no se comporte de esa manera aunque es perfectamente entendible dadas las circunstancias actuales. La parte positiva es que ya tengo el tratamiento completo, el cual fue bastante económico para mi sorpresa y afortunadamente Ellie tiene mejor semblante, en la mañana se veía realmente mal.

Ellie is quite calm at the moment, too calm actually...she is very active normally and it is really strange that she is not behaving that way although it is perfectly understandable given the current circumstances. The positive part is that I already have the full treatment, which was quite inexpensive to my surprise and fortunately Ellie is looking better, in the morning she looked really bad.

Porque quién no, luego de pasar la noche y la madrugada vomitando. Lo que me tiene un poco más tranquila es que ya no está tan indispuesta y que dentro de todo, el tratamiento en casa no ha sido tan malo como pensaba. Aquí les dejo una imagen para mostrarles un poco la forma en la que decidí organizarme para no tener problema con la aplicación ni los horarios de las respectivas inyecciones.

Sé que en esta oportunidad abordé un tema bastante diferente pero espero que sea de su agrado, realmente necesitaba desahogarme con respecto a este tema, hablar acerca de esta situación me ha dejado cierta sensación de alivio y era algo que necesitaba con urgencia, me siento un poco mejor.
