MinerGate
Just for fun, had it installed on my PC running Windows 10 for few hours.
Later on, went to check my PC sats on different websites, calculating my PC's ROi
In MinerGate:
- it shows my H/s power really low for some reason (comparing to other open-source miners, running at my PC)
- it hadn't even asked for my wallet address (extremely strange - where all the coins mined are temporarily stored then???)
- speaking about XMR mining that started automatically, as far as I know as the owner of XMR wallet, lowest transfer to the wallet is 0.4 XMR. To mine this amount, it should take around 4-6 months of mining with MinerGate =) And what they will tell me later? Sorry, all that you mined? was occasionally lost?! =)
- software will automatically choose, what coin to mine, according to the current efficiency. So, my 0.4 XMR needed for transaction, will be mined for more than 4-6 months? Nice =)
- it's not open-source, so, basically, I have no idea what it's doing? even better =)
My advice
- Calculate the profit of mining in advance, by simple testing miner. Just simple maths, don't trust messages on websites
- Use only open-source miners, where you can open the code and actually see, what's going on (normally, creator of the miner gets 2-3% to his wallet and you should be able to cancel these transactions, if you really want)
- Some say, LTC can shoot up to 100$/1LTC this year, so, go get some open-source miner and go get some LTCs
