What's up? And here I am feeling down. Lmao.
You know, I'd rather catch a regular colds or even fever than having to provoke my allergy, because when it does activate, it lasts around a month.
Allergic rhinitis is very irritable on the nose and throat. It causes an overproduction of phlegm that is very sticky. Drinking lots of water helps but only for a while. At night, when I lay down to rest, I sometimes feel drowning due to the phlegm build up. Of course, I've already tried to expel some phlegm before sleeping but I can't remove everything due to its sticky and thick consistency.
I didn't suspect it to be allergy at first and thought it was only a regular cough when my throat began to feel itchy and began to have colds.
I made chicken porridge and drank some calamansi (lime) juice, hoping it would keep the itchy throat and colds from progressing into a cough. I even toasted lots of garlic. Lol. I can't remember the last time I made some chicken porridge so this one made me a bit happy, savoring each bowl each day.
Later that day, I felt a sting on my thumb's side and saw that it had a small cut. I'm not sure where I got it but I suspect it was during preparing the ingredients for the porridge.
I think this was two days after when my brother visited home before leaving for Manila to visit his workplace. I asked him if he could buy me some medicine, lozenges, lime, and a pineapple fruit. He couldn't find a pineapple fruit so I ended up with pineapple juice instead. And for the medicine, I asked my brother what medicine could I take for colds and he recommended those on the photo. He took up nursing so I trust him. Lol
Good thing I read the instruction for taking the lozenges. I would've eaten it as soon as I'm done with one candy if I hadn't read that it has to be 2 to 3 hrs interval.
Long story short, the meds my brother recommended didn't work because what I had wasn't just regular colds. It was allergy. I already took my one spare antihistamine tablet and bought 5 tablets soon as I could purchase some.
It lessened my allergy but still didn't go away, so I bought 5 more and took the last tablet just last night. Yup, I still have allergies after a month but I think I'm on my road to recovery now because the phlegm production already began to lessen.
I'm hoping to fully recover this week. Getting allergies is just so tiring and I hate it a lot. I also cleaned my room to remove dust and mold build up due to the monthlong Southwest monsoon.
Take care, everyone! Be healthy!
