I started an account on the above mentioned social media platform in December last year, when I realized that no one that I spoke with had a similar point of view (or interest) in a topic of my preference...Crytpocurrency and Bitcoin. I used the site to discuss cryptocurrency, learn about it, easily find the news pertaining to crypto and blockchain, and also to communicate with like-minded individuals who I felt that I could benefit from interacting with.
There are so many people out there with, perhaps not malicious intent but, the goals to accrue followers and spread false information and negative sentiment. I'm certainly not one of those people. Any negativity that I communicate is not spewed out, but appropriately explained and utilized. Don't get me wrong, I love having people 'follow' me on different sites and pay attention to what I'm talking about. I especially love the conversation and banter that goes along with it as well, including the friendships that are built over time.
I've read about the companies and bots that are searching for spammers and others that violate policies, but how would someone like me be on a radar like that? There are people with many, many, many more followers than I have who are far less considerate than I am who are allowed to exist and thrive. What is different about this 'little guy' right here? As you can perhaps tell by how I communicate...I'm not an idiot...well mostly. I have a point of view and I feel that I generally voice it in a calm and gentle fashion. I'm sure there are times that I use partially taboo language or explain a viewpoint of mine that might not be popular...but..C'mon!
Anyways. Thank you so much to the STEEM community for continuing to support each other and help with one another's research and style. There are so many people here who have already welcomed me with open arms and have given me amazing new information and insight about how to blog, share my thoughts, new places and sources to learn from...so many things. I truly do appreciate the love and less-than-love that I receive here. The suggestions and conversations thus far have been priceless and I have only been here a short while!
