Its the month of May and for some reason the rain seems to be pouring down heavily. It was a rain aftermath and I decided to get outside and you know its always damp after the rain, you know how it is. It always quite refreshing too. There is the scent and the cool breeze, there is also droplets of water on leafs and rope-line. I am not so fond of the muddy street, they are not always friendly with my boots and shoes. The rain also sometimes brings with it, a somewhat melancholy feel, yearning for company, ha, enough about me and rain and all. I took some photos that what this is all about , lol.
THE PHOTO-PROCESS
I walked out after the rain and alas, it was a fine view. the rain brought snails out particularly and of course I got a shot of the snail, with her permission of course.
Say hello to my new friend Garry. I took a couple of shots of him from different angles. I noticed also how it was obviously slow, lol. His outstretched eyes kept going in, in defense. For most of the time he was indifferent, he was not like my normal subject. He was without complaint, lol or drama. What I did like about the shot was that it seemed like he posed for a shot, staring directly to my camera. This shot was satisfying for me mainly because of the way the snail, Garry that is, blends into the shot perfectly with its colors and it was desire at the first instance.
This is probably my favourite of the two shots. I figured I was invading their privacy so in my mind I wanted to do it as quickly as I could. I'd also like to share that when taking macro shots for me I try not to zoom in. When you zoom in, you loose major quality of the subject which is not good. I would also suggest getting a zoom lens which I do make use of but not on this particular shot as I lost the lenses. The idea was just to move as close as I could without scaring them off.
Then there is two types of zoom, in my opinion that is, the optical zoom and the digital zoom. I'd say for optical zoom is when you try to pinch out and zoom in to a far away target which for most cell phones, make the image loose quality while the digital zoom is when I crop into my shot in post-processing and that was what I did notably for the second photo.
THE POST-PROCESSING
I edited the both photos with the lightroom mobile and almost every of my photos I try to crop in to take away any distrations around. In general :
- Exposure - 0.71EV
- Contrast - 7
- highlights - 62
- shadows - 5
- Tone curve - slightly right up
- vibrance - 18
- white balance - 10
- Texture - 30
Thats the editing I applied in both the photos.
