Better late than never eh?! Last Friday was Valentine's Day and it was different for me. (Edit; I'm writing this eleven days after valetines day. I have not been too active online as life hasn't been the best. Currently I'm down with a bit of fever and hopefully I'd be back up again tomorrow. I opened my draft and realized I needed to finish this once and for all). First of, I'm not big on celebrations; birthdays and stuff like that. But I don't think I can be like that again, not especially since my girlfriend is the exact opposite. She was already planning my Valentine's Day gift and raving about it all month, and she sure as hell didn't disappoint.
It was late in the evening on Wednesday, I just had a long day and I was trying to navigate my way through the hustle and bustle of the city to get a bus heading home, as I saw a notification pop up on my phone. It was a vendor who asked for my availability for the next day. I communicated this and let her know that I'd be home as I was working remotely on that Thursday. Fast forward to the next morning and I got a message of my delivery. She brought a package to my doorstep and handed it for over, while I stood at the door listening to a really important meeting. I was so curious as to what was inside and I couldn't hold it any longer, as I tore open the paper wrap.
.
Apparently, all she had done all month preceding the fourteenth was listen to me talk about how I love perfumes, and colognes and smelling really nice. It was a pack of four and I wondered, it must have cost her a fortune. It made me realize and learn that showing love requires a lot of effort and thought. I immediately employed the help of a family friend and started planning and to reciprocate accordingly. I actually have a lot more to talk to you guys about but unfortunately, the fever's kicking in and my head hurts and my throat is on fire. Any hoo, happy Valentine's Day hivers. It's way long over but it's never too late to show people you love and care for them. Have a good one y'all.
