Summertime in Vermont is a nice time of the year. We have been getting a little rain off and on to keep things green. The temperature dipped into the 50Fs last night and will be in the high 70Fs by the late afternoon.
The farmstands and orchards are open but most of the apples are still on the trees and won't ripen for awhile yet.
The spring blooms have given way to the flowers that hang around through the summer like these Blackeyed Susans.
Plums and peaches are ripe. Pears will be a little later with the apples. Most of the berries are gone.
The dew is heavy when we have cool nights. Dahlias are just blooming. They are a nice midsummer flower.
Coneflowers are similar to Blackeyed Susans and will last for much of the summer.
Tall garden Phlox also last into the summer. Creeping phlox is an early spring bloomer and the flowers are long gone. Hope you enjoyed a few photos from my Vermont summer.
