Winter at the lake
Winter is half over 🙂 This cabin across the lake always captures my attention. Its sits a little ways up from the water with some cedars along the shore between it and the dock.

There isn't alot of snow on the ground but it is hanging around. It is supposed to warm up Thursday and Friday with maybe some rain so I thought I would take a few snow pictures before its gone.

Winter Arrives
Winter has arrived. Snow on the mountains. Ice on the lake. Just a few weeks ago the lake was open. Then the storms came in. The temperature dropped. The ice creeped out from the shore.

We are watching the American Revolution by Ken Burns on PBS and were inspired to visit some local history from the war. Ann Story was an early Salisbury, Vermont settler and supporter of the Green Mountain

Camps on Lake Dunmore
Looking across Lake Dunmore at one of the main lodges located on the two youth camps on the north end of the lake Keewaydin and Songadeewin. Both are for kids 8-16 one camp for boys and one for girls.

More snow overnight in Vermont. First real snow 2-3" Much more snow on the trees this morning. Nice walking this time of year. Ground is still warm enough the snow isn't really sticking.

We got some snow last night! Rushed out to get photos because I think rain is coming so it will not last. It was a gentle, light snow. No wind. So it covered the trees beautifully.

We made a charcuterie board to enjoy while watching the Great British Bake Off. Since we're in Vermont we started with some Vermont cheeses. Three from Blue Ledge Farms here in Salisbury!

Clouds were covering Mount Moosalamoo this morning. Still some nice colors along the shore. I've always liked this white cabin across the lake. Seems like the perfect fall look.

Beautiful blue sky at Lake Dunmore, Addison County, Vermont. Looking northeast from east shore of the lake near the southern end of the lake. The docks and boats are out. The campgrounds have emptied out.
