Vert Pano

We got some snow last night! Rushed out to get photos because I think rain is coming so it will not last.

Mountains hidden

Its overcast so the mountains on the other side of the lake are not visible.

Mixed colors

It was a gentle, light snow. No wind. So it covered the trees beautifully. Some spots have the white, the green of the pines, and the brown/gold of the remaining leaves. Soon those oaks and beech trees holding their leaves will be bare.

Mill pond

Back to the mill pond. This is the old mill pond on Leicester River above the town of Salisbury, Vermont. I incorrectly call it the mill pond just to give it a name. The area has a history of mills going back to the early settlements in the area. The mills are long gone and this is actually a small hydroelectric dam that feeds a penstock that runs about half a mile down to a small hydroelectric plant. But I like the romantic sounding mill pond better.

Horiz Pano

A panoramic view shows an oak or beech holding onto its leaves.

Pines along driveway

Here's another panoramic photo of some white pines between my house and the road.

Rock man

Rock man always gets his picture taken when it snows.

Bushes with snow

And I also took a shot of a small bush in one of our flower beds to show how nicely this light snow fall coated the landscape. Now as I am sitting with a warm mug of coffee posting my photos it has started to drizzle out. Up to 37F. Our first snow will be truly ephemeral 🙁
