Our first crocus opened this week!
Lots of bulbs are pushing up through the ground now that the snow is almost completely gone. It reached 60F one day this week. But we do have some more snow in the forecast this week.
The ice on the lake is breaking up.
The geese are eagerly waiting. Geese have been moving around the last few weeks. Finding open water and hanging out in the corn fields that were harvested last fall. Several pairs usually nest around Lake Dunmore. We have also seen bald eagles flying overhead. A pair nest on the other side of the lake. The land owner has a camera on the nest but don't publicly share it.
I would say ice out date was officially this week.
The warmer temperatures, sun, and choppy waves worked together to break up the ice. I even got the grill out for the first time but only for the day. It was back in the teens fahrenheit the last couple of day 馃檨
