**Garden of Dreams
**
My head rages and raves
With the dullness of the day
The mundane makes me lose my mind.
Yet, solitude and grace
And the air’s cool embrace
Are waiting for me, just outside.
The garden we’ve grown
At our family home
May not be to everyone’s taste,
But it’s the place that I go
When there’s too much to know
To escape from the madness and haste.
The mare’s tail’s there
Creating a snare
So I pull and I push and I pluck;
Whilst destroying the weeds
And planting some seeds
I find ancient rocks that are stuck.
The flowers that bloom
In our outside room
Bring beauty and light to the fore.
The fruit trees that grow
While I weed and I sow
Show the promise of fruit evermore.
When I need time alone,
Away from chores and my phone,
To forget that life isn’t fair
Imagination can ride
And I don’t have to hide
In the garden of dreams, out there.
