Anyway, let me tell you about today’s training session. It was a very light freestyle session, mostly just to test out combos without building up fatigue, since I’m preparing for the second edition of the “VS by category” competition, which will take place on Sunday the 26th in Barquisimeto. What I don’t know yet is whether I’ll be one of the selected athletes to go, but I really hope I get the chance to attend and enjoy the event. With God’s help, I know I’ll make it.
So, during my freestyle session, I was drilling the “mortal exit” until I could throw it without fear—even when tired—and with good height, which means I’m getting more air. I also tested out some combos I’ve done before and practiced a few combinations that I hope will come out clean on competition day. What I didn’t like about today’s session is that it didn’t last very long—I only trained for two hours because I had to go to school. Also, I trained alone, which I’ve never liked, especially when it comes to freestyle. I don’t know much about the technical side yet, and I don’t feel very motivated when I train by myself. Still, I showed up and got it done, and the session went well overall. What I did like is that I landed the “dragon exit.” I still need to build confidence and fluidity to combo it, but the fact that I can already do it is a win. I also attempted some 360s, and they’re still there—so that’s a good sign.
