The Random Technique
This technique used to enhance visual thinking was popularized by Edward de Bono. It is one of the simplest in the arsenal of visual thinking techniques. It encourages lateral thinking and creative problem solving. And all you need are some images and your eyes.
The technique involves a process where different words, images, and objects, are randomly chosen and placed beside one another with the aim of forcing a connection between the random elements and the visual problem. The technique is often referred to as "forced relationships" for obvious reasons. This forced relationship often triggers new and creative ideas by allowing the brain to come up with solutions that it would normally not come up with.
