Sitting here by the water's edge as the sun soaks my words,
Watching the seas dance in the wind.
Today I feel calm and still as I listen to the city,
All the problems I have with myself seem to wash away.

This day could come over me again and again,
Under the shade I could easily succumb to slumber.
The salty sea air seems to ignite my memory,
And I smile as remembering you comes into view.

This day could go on forever and I don't think you'd realise,
That as the city lights fade out, you're a shimmer of beautiful sight.
If you smiled at me I swear I didn't see it,
The patterns of this moment could be better there with you.

Like the sun weaving its light onto this page,
Your face remains embedded for this time.
I could say that you & I are disconnected & foreign,
I could appreciate this still you've created for me.

Perhaps the day will come where peace is met,
Perhaps you & I will reach some form of understanding.
Just as my words on this page are messy and unclear,
Suddenly, we're able to read between the lines.

And so our reflections just wash away...
