Sometimes, black and white are not merely basic, boring colors; in photographs, they create a striking visual effect that allows every detail to be better seen and understood. Black and white tell a story. I sometimes reflect on how all visual effects originated from these two tones—and while we can now appreciate the full spectrum of color, we must not forget that black and white played a starring role throughout the history of photography.
