Sixteen days of sharing my thoughts and experiences with this game, and there is still so much to explore. The more I think about Splinterlands, the more I realise that becoming a better player is not just about finding powerful cards or discovering one perfect strategy. It is also about patience, consistency, and learning to make better decisions over time.
Sometimes, we want to see immediate results. We want our strategies to work, our battles to go smoothly, and our efforts to produce victories. However, games like Splinterlands remind me that improvement takes time. You have to learn the rules, understand your cards, experiment with different combinations, and accept that not every decision will produce the outcome you expect.
That is what I want to focus on today: trusting the learning process and giving myself room to improve.
Progress Doesn鈥檛 Always Happen Overnight 馃
One interesting thing about learning a strategy game is that progress is not always obvious.
You might play several battles without noticing a major difference in your performance. You might still make mistakes or encounter opponents whose strategies are difficult to counter. At first, it can feel as though you are not improving.
But sometimes, progress happens in small ways.
Perhaps you begin to understand a card ability that confused you before. Maybe you become more careful when selecting your lineup, or you start recognising why certain combinations are effective.
These small improvements matter because they gradually influence the decisions you make.
I think it is important not to judge progress only by the number of battles won. Winning is great, but understanding the game better is another valuable achievement.
The knowledge you gain today might help you make a better decision in a future battle. You might not see the benefit immediately, but it can become useful as you gain more experience.
Understanding Your Strengths and Weaknesses 馃幆
Another part of improving is learning to recognise what you do well and where you need to improve.
Every player has strengths, but every strategy also has limitations. A lineup might be effective at dealing damage but struggle when facing a team with strong defensive abilities. Another might survive for a long time but lack the offensive power needed to finish the battle.
Understanding these weaknesses can help you make more informed choices.
Instead of simply asking whether a card is powerful, I want to think more about the role it plays in the team. Does it complement the other monsters? Does it help address a weakness? Is it suitable for the battle rules?
These questions encourage me to look at the bigger picture.
I also believe that being honest about mistakes is important. It is easy to blame an opponent or the circumstances of a battle, but sometimes the best thing to do is review your own decisions.
That does not mean every defeat is your fault. It simply means recognising the things you can control and learning from them.
Patience Can Make a Difference
There are times when trying something new can be frustrating.
You might experiment with a different card combination because you believe it will improve your lineup, only to discover that it does not work as expected. You may need several attempts before understanding how to use certain abilities effectively.
This is where patience becomes important.
Rather than abandoning every new idea after one unsuccessful attempt, it helps to understand what went wrong. Perhaps the strategy needs an adjustment, or maybe it is only effective under particular battle conditions.
At the same time, patience does not mean refusing to change. Sometimes, an experiment simply shows that another approach might be more suitable.
The important thing is to learn from the experience instead of making decisions based entirely on frustration.
I want to carry that mindset into future battles. Every match is another opportunity to understand the game better, and every lesson adds to the experience I am building.
The Value of Consistency
Something else I have been thinking about is the importance of consistency.
You do not have to discover a completely new strategy every day to make progress. Sometimes, improving means returning to the basics and understanding them more deeply.
Learning how your cards work, paying attention to battle rules, and thinking carefully about your lineup are habits that can continue helping you over time.
Consistency also means remaining willing to learn, even after a disappointing battle. One defeat should not make you forget everything you have learned, just as one victory should not convince you that there is nothing left to improve.
There is always another strategy to explore and another decision to understand.
For me, continuing this Splinterlands series is also a reminder to keep showing up, sharing ideas, and finding new things to discuss about the game.
Sixteen days might seem like a small milestone, but every step contributes to the journey.
Looking Forward to More Adventures 馃殌
As I continue playing Splinterlands, I want to become more confident in my decisions while remaining open to learning from other players.
I want to explore different cards, understand how abilities complement one another, and become better at adapting my strategy to different situations.
I also want to remember why I started enjoying the game in the first place. The competition is exciting, but so is the process of discovering new possibilities and gradually understanding how everything works together.
Not every battle will be easy, and not every strategy will succeed. That is perfectly fine.
The goal is to keep learning, enjoy the experience, and appreciate the progress that comes with time.
My biggest lesson for Day 16 is simple: don鈥檛 rush the process. Sometimes, the difference between where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow comes from the small lessons you choose to learn along the way.
