I think one of the funniest parts of being new to Splinterlands is how confident I can feel before a battle, only to realize afterwards that I still have a lot to figure out. Sometimes I look at my team selection and think I've made the perfect decision, but the battle has a completely different opinion.
That is one thing I am beginning to enjoy about the game. There's always something unexpected waiting around the corner. Every battle presents a different situation, and I am slowly learning that success isn't just about picking powerful cards.
Understanding abilities has become one of my biggest learning points. Some cards have abilities that can completely change how a battle unfolds, and knowing when to use them is something I'm still working on. I have also started paying more attention to positioning because where a monster is placed can be just as important as the card itself.
Another thing I find interesting is how much room there is for experimentation. I don't think I always have to follow the same approach. Trying different combinations allows me to discover new possibilities and understand my cards better.
I know experienced players probably make some of these decisions without thinking twice, but for me every little discovery feels like progress. Even remembering what a particular ability does without having to check again feels like a small achievement.
I'm also looking forward to expanding my card collection and becoming more familiar with different elements. There is still so much more to explore, and I don't want to miss out on the interesting parts of the game by rushing through the learning process.
For now, I'm embracing the beginner experience. Some battles will go my way, others will probably not, but I am always here to improve and have fun.
