I just finished a 6.895km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:58ss !
It is staying cool this week, which suits me fine, apart from making a dip in the pool less attractive. It rained again yesterday, so everything is wet, but it has not rained yet today.
I did my usual run around Fairfield. Some of my reasons for using this route are:
- It avoids most of the schoolkids
- It is largely away from roads
- It has a bit of hill climbing to build strength
The only real variation I use is the direction I run around the estate. Today it was clockwise.
I saw one squirrel up there, but not many runners. I pushed a bit on the loop and managed my second best time for the segment. I am still fastest in my age band on Strava, but then I am at the younger end. I would like to beat my record there, but it will need a special effort and a lack of traffic on the one road I have to cross.
I felt pretty good on this run overall. The average pace was nothing special, but at least I am staying around the sort of pace I would hope for. I want to do a half marathon this weekend as the Greenway race is cancelled and so may save my legs for that. I will try to get out for some walks to get some exercise.
Run free and stay well.
