I keep trying to resist the pull of #Splinterlands (aka #SteemMonsters), but I keep getting dragged back in for 'one more battle'. Lately I have just been dipping in to do daily challenges, but that only gets me a few cards. The fact is that unless I pay to level up my summoners I will struggle to get to the higher leagues and I would rather spend the money on more Steem.
I am aware that levelling up your cards can be seen as a form of investment, but I am not worrying too much about what mine are worth for now. These were my winnings from last season where I got to Silver I. I rarely get to gold as it just gets too hard with what I have.
I was able to level up Naga Windmaster, but have not used it much yet. I won a Daria Dragonscale in a daily challenge, so cool to get another, but I do not use Dragon much. This was my first Boogeyman. Good to have a slowing card with some firepower. My second Furious Chicken may help at some point. I think most people throw it in if there is space to absorb a shot. I did not really need more of any of the others.
I understand that there are lots of new cards in the new Untamed sets, but I am just not buying for now. I am happy enough to just dabble with what I have. I have less than 1000 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), so cannot afford to buy anything with those. That is okay.
I know this game has some depths, but it is just not my thing to get that into it. I play games for a bit of fun now and then. I see @slobberchops posting tips and strategies, but a lot of it goes over my head.
BTW I have a few cards leased out (for free), including a Ruler of the Seas, but I won another of those recently. I am prepared to lease more to sub-minnow accounts who want to play, but they still have to buy a starter pack first.
If I meet you in battle, go easy on me.
