It is hard to believe that I recorded a version of this song over two years ago. The 3speak video does not seem to be working now. That was done on my first electronic drums that were pretty basic. Now I have a much more capable kit.

It was selected as the student collaboration song on Drumeo this month. A lot of people had played it before as they had done an unofficial collaboration recently and it is such a simple song that most drummers are likely to give it a go.

You may spot me nearly lose a stick on the last chorus. I ought to get a better webcam to improve the video quality. I used my phone to film my feet.

The rhythm is pretty much straight crotchets (quarter notes) all the way through apart from in the chorus. It does need some coordination as you are using three limbs most of the time. I just had some issues getting the high hat to sound every time. I would hope that part of my video will be in the finished one with everyone that will appear early next month.

Drumeo did a video about White Stripes drummer Meg. I am sure she will admit that she is not a technical player, but what she did worked with the music.

Last month the song was Green Onions and you can glimpse me at 2:48.

I am making progress with my drumming. The lessons push me to try new things. I have been playing with my band about once a month with a gig booked for September.

Rock on!
