I will start with my usual price chart that I generate from @coingecko with a little Python script.

$HIVE is inching upwards generally. So is 'the other coin', but with bigger swings. I really do not know why it still has any value. $HIVE has dropped a few places on the CoinGecko chart, but it has at least got back to what it was worth a year ago. Mind you, other coins have gone up a lot in that time, so things could be better. You can see that I vote up $HIVE to try and help it keep a good rating. I may vote down 'shitcoins'.

$HIVE history

There is a new effort to give the Hive music community a boost. We used to have the old Open Mic contest run by @luzcypher that had some prizes. This new one could offer much bigger prizes. We need to pull in more musicians who are not yet on Hive to make this viable, so spread the word amongst those you know. If each musician can bring in a few fans it could make Hive generally more active. Some musicians drifted away and we could try to bring them back. People have to decide which platforms are worth their time and I think Hive could be great for music. That means getting feedback (the good kind) as well as rewards.

I keep an eye on the Threads on InLeo and sometimes add my own. There is a thriving community in there. The guys on the Cryptomaniacs podcast are into it and do a 'Threadcast' for their shows that gets a lot of interaction. This is an under-exploited feature of Hive. InLeo is using some advertising to bring in extra income.

Friday Follows

There is a new project from @hivedocu to create quality documentaries about Hive. This could be great material to share around as people can react well to video.
The beetroot soup guys have a new project in @cbrsphilanthropy that looks to help out more people.
@nicklewis has been on Hive for a while. He is into making electronic music. He just posted that the transplanted kidney he got some time ago is failing and he will need another transplant.

The Doghouse

There are a couple of things I heard about this week. One was in a discussion with a Hive user who feels that they get less engagement since they needed to power down to pay for essentials. I think that Hive should be helping out those who need it. Not everyone can afford to invest lots of their money in this platform. I do not actually check the wallet of each person I interact with. What matters is the content they are producing. Does this affect who you engage with and support? I do not take it for granted that I will get votes for my comments or any sort of reciprocal support.

The other case was where someone is accusing a Hive-based game of misusing media such as NFT images that they obtained from elsewhere. I have not looked into all the licencing details of that, but if someone is expecting support from the Hive community then they know they will be scrutinised. You can see what the project says as well as their accuser. It feels like there is some bitterness from the latter, so maybe it is more of a personal issue, but decide for yourself.
