The News

The big news for the weekend is that @hivefest starts today! Unfortunately I will not be going this time. A trip to Mexico was not viable, but I hope there will be more events in Europe soon. I keep telling people that anyone can organise a meetup. You do not need to be a big Hive player. You just need to find a place and time then get the word out. I will publicise events I hear about. See some below.

I extended my prices graph to see how things have changed since I was in Amsterdam at the last big event. Back then $HIVE was around 50c, but soon dropped. It seems we failed at getting a wider buzz going about this platform and the price has settled somewhat lower now. We need to make use of the other social platforms to let more folk know that this is a really active blockchain with lots of projects. We should be trying to get other crypto communities to do their discussion here rather than on centralised platforms.

I wondered if I would get the chart today as @coingecko was giving some errors saying I had exceeded the limit for free API usage, but it worked in the end.

Friday Follows

I am going to mention some people who are at Hivefest. You may well be following some of them anyway. If others who are there see this then feel free to share your posts, Tweets, videos etc in the comments.

• My friend @detlev did a couple of posts about his travels and I see he arrived safely. I am sure he will be doing something beer-related. What is the beer of choice in Rosarito?
• I met @lordbutterfly in Amsterdam. He will be presenting the documentary he has made about Hive.
• @neopch is already posting video from Mexico.
• @chrisrice from @dbuzz is there.
• As @roelandp is busy building his house the event has been organised by @starkerz and @theycallmedan. I know it is a lot of work, so I hope things run smoothly.

Eventing

• For those in the UK who cannot get to Mexico there is a meetup in Halifax, UK on Sunday.
• @coldbeetrootsoup have a meetup in the Netherlands this month.
• If you can get to Kraków in Poland on 7th October then @gtg is hosting HiveBeeCon.
• @shanibeer is involved in a discussion of Hive at a business festival in Leicester, UK in November.

The End

I will not share any 'dog house' bad vibes this time. We should be enjoying the Hivefest spirit. There are livestreams of the presentations and people there will be posting. Support these posts and share elsewhere so others can see what a great community we have.

Hive five!
