I cannot do my usual price chart today, but here are some prices. I had someone ask if I would be doing #FollowFriday and I appreciate the support I get. $HIVE is not ending the year where we might hope, but it is not as low as some feared.

Prices from @coingecko

Despite this there is plenty going on with this blockchain. People are still building things on it. meno@meno has been busy with the snapie@snapie app that is really popular. I think that short form content is important and we need to decide what has value. We can use it to share news as well as our personal updates. Communities can form around it.

Private messaging is important too as we need options away from corporate platforms. You can do it in peakd@peakd and ecency@ecency.

Hive is built to encourage developers as there is minimal cost in using it and transactions are quick.

I have talked with many people this year and met a few. I always say the in-person meetups have better bandwidth.

I will just drop a few names of people I appreciate. You can look at previous posts for more. I would love to see more people doing the same.

alessandrawhite@alessandrawhite has been representing Hive as well as running Creative Work Hour every day.

bozz@bozz is a really consistent poster on various topics including music, finance and travel.

thetroublenotes@thetroublenotes are spreading musical joy around the world on their tours.

mcsamm@mcsamm continues to work on providing more boreholes in Ghana.

louis88@louis88, brianoflondon@brianoflondon and themarkymark@themarkymark are building cool tools on Hive.

adetorrent@adetorrent makes quality videos reviewing gadgets. livinguktaiwan@livinguktaiwan has travelled to Antarctica. I met them both in London too.

sidekickmatt@sidekickmatt draws several different comics that appear on Hive.

There are many more people who make Hive fun. Please share some of your favourites.

Hive five and I wish you all happy new year.
