A lot of home solar systems will not work if the grid is off. To work independently requires extra equipment. Our grid is pretty reliable anyway.

I think those units are selling well. We have been trying various ways to shade the house including external curtains on the south-facing windows. It may help a bit.

Getting lower property tax is a nice bonus. I don't think we have that option, but people need incentives. We are still doing okay with all the recent sun.

It has been a productive time for us too. Solar is really booming as people look to save money. I am interested to see what happens when people can buy plug-in solar here.
