Yesterday we drove down to Portsmouth on a family mission (nothing to worry about). We spent most of the day walking around and I clocked up about 24,000 steps. It is a nice city. A lot of it was bombed in the war as it was one of the main naval ports and still has a big military presence. There are still some nice old buildings, especially around the harbour. Lots of new stuff including a big 'outlet' shopping area with some high-rise housing near the Spinnaker Tower.

Spinnaker
You may be able to spot someone abseilling down it. Only 100m down.

Parked at the quay was this little floating gin palace. From what I could find it belongs to a US billionaire.

We ended up at a restaurant there called Hubbox who had a good range of veggie burgers. I was desperate for a beer by then, so ordered a pale ale from Harbour Brewing Co in Cornwall. It was only a small can, but came with a really heavy glass that it filled perfectly.

This was our first experience of dining out since lockdown started. Each place wanted contact details for tracking cases. They will desperate for the business and have had to spend money on extra staff as well as protective measures.

Beer
It was a nice, light, refreshing beer with some fruity notes. Just what I needed.

The burger did not disappoint either. I went for a 'fake bacon' one. Had assorted sides including cheesy fries, coleslaw and onion rings that filled us up.

#BeerSaturday has been running for ages now thanks to the wonderful detlev@detlev. There are prizes to be won, but I am just here for the #beer!
