Description from Strava:
I had to make it a quick one today as I had a meeting after lunch. I did the hill up to Fairlands Valley, but in the opposite direction around the loop to last time. However I do it I have to do that big climb. It went pretty well and the weather was kind to me. Not cold and blue skies. I was in another meeting a couple of hours later watching it pour down outside.
I see a few others go running from work, but they are not people I know and so I run alone. I saw a group of runners on the way back, but I did not recognise them. There are lots of companies based around there.
Podcast listening was No Such Thing As A Fish from the QI Elves who were also on Richard Herring's show that was next up. I have heard that Richard runs in the Stevenage parkrun that my run overlapped with, but I have not done it in a while. We saw his live show a few years ago.
On the way back I diverted past the police and railway stations for a change. I still end up climbing that final hill. I try to make these runs fairly brisk, but not quite as fast as I would aim for at parkrun. With the hills I get a good workout anyway.
Oh, and the train this morning was packed. I think the previous ones were cancelled, so there was a backlog of passengers. These trains only run every half hour, so I did not want to wait for the next one. I hope nobody was spreading any germs. Hardly anyone wears a mask now, but COVID and other bugs are out there. I have had a fourth COVID jab and one for flu. Luckily I had no side effects.
Run free and stay well.
