Description from Strava:
Another nice morning as I set off for parkrun at Henlow Bridge Lakes. I jogged most of the way there to warm up. We had Shefford Runners doing a takeover so they did a lot of the volunteer roles as well as bringing along their Couch To 5k graduates.
As usual I met up with some regulars at the start, but once we set off it is each for themselves as we each have our own pace. It was a little crowded to start with so I had to work my way through the crowd and find my pace.
I did not get overtaken too much and I did pass some people as well as lapping a few. I went for it at the end. I was slightly disappointed to be a little slower than last week, but I was just about in the top quarter.
The Shefford Runners brought cake for everyone so I had a slice. I often say that I run so I can eat cake. Life has to be enjoyable.
I did not stick around as we were going out so I had to get home and showered. We have been helping a friend sort his house out so I was filling a skip with various rubbish. We went for lunch at a Toby Carvery. I do not go to those often as I do not eat meat, but they had a few veggie options and then you help yourself to vegetables. We did look at eating at a nearby garden centre, but their cafe was all booked up for lunch.
There are a lot of fireworks going off tonight as the Guy Fawkes, aka bonfire night, celebrations continue.
I plan to run again tomorrow when I would like to go further. I have not decided on a route yet.
Enjoy your weekend and run free!
