Description from Strava:
It was a nice morning for running. It has been a bit windy, but the course is sheltered. It also rained a little overnight, but that did not really wet the ground. A little cloud cover made it slightly cooler and that suits me.
On the way there a lady was hanging around the station as she was not sure where to go. I walked to the course with her. Most of the usual crowd were there except for one older regular Alan who had an operation in the week. I expect he will be back soon as he is a dedicated runner.
For the last couple of weeks I have been fairly slow as I was doing the pacing last week and wanted to practice it the week before. Today I was hoping for a decent time. I think I set off a little too quickly. The first two kilometres were at a quick pace for me, but I could not sustain that. Jeff came past me after that and I just tried to keep him in sight to the finish. So I was just over 27 minutes, but that is still good. I have hopes to be quicker this year if I can keep up my training.
I have a gig with @swing47 tomorrow night, so I need to practice for that. It is a while since I played much guitar. My fingers have gone soft, so I will see how they hold up.
There was some excitement in the village as the road near us was dug up for electrical repairs. Some houses were without power for a while and traffic could not get through. A bus had to turn around and that took a while. It seems to be all done now.
