Description from Strava:
I think it rained overnight again, but it was quite nice this morning. There was a fun music session at the pub last night. I was accompanying some old jazz tunes as well as my own songs.
I headed to the fields across the railway. The path to the bridge used to be between trees and bushes, but that has all been cleared for the current building works with fencing in place. It is very overgrown at the bridge with some nettles, so I had to pick my way through. I am tempted to go up there with my strimmer.
My plan was for some intervals around a big rectangle of farm tracks. I went fast along the long sides and took it easy between with some walking. The pace was not too bad, but I was running into the wind when heading south. There are two lakes in that block, but you can hardly see them due to trees whilst the rest of the area is open fields.
I did two laps and then took the long way home at a gentle pace. There used to be horses owned by travellers in the field by the stream, but I heard that the landowner is not allowing that now.
This was a fairly flat run, but there is one nice downhill stretch through the middle of a field of some crop that is still small.
I only saw a couple of other people out there. I passed one guy with three dogs twice whilst doing my laps.
I was listening to The Life Scientific podcast that was talking to Anthony Fauci who has dealt with several pandemics in the USA, including AIDS and COVID. He has had to put up with a lot of attacks from people who do not understand science.
Run free and stay well.
