Description from Strava:
There were some issues with the @strava2hive app yesterday so my parkrun did not appear on Hive until the evening. The developer has to cope with changes on Strava, but generally it works fine and I can earn from my activities.

I had a swim yesterday evening in our pool and may well get in again today. Last night I was watching the second Avatar movie. It is all nonsense, but it looks amazing. I also watched the Olympic rugby 7s. I think cutting team sport events down to 15 minutes makes them more fun to watch. The big French crowd enjoyed their victory.

I was not sure where I would run today, but started by heading up the hill to Fairfield as I often do. Instead of going straight on to Fairfield I turned right on the road towards Standalone Farm as I felt I could go a little further. Then I carried on to the triple roundabout rather than cutting across through the farm, so that added more to my distance.

The road through Letchworth and Norton is very up and down as I have often noted, but it has some nice houses. I was following the route of the Standalone 10k route, so I kept on that by taking a back road that brings me out by the track across to the Grange where the Letchworth parkrun happens. So I took that route. That means going down the steep hill that has to be taken with care. It is a hard one to run up and that is part of the local half marathon.

It was a lovely morning and I saw a fair few other runners out there. I came back through Fairfield and on to Arlesey.

For those who do not know '1337' is slang for 'elite' in geeky circles and I just noticed that was my distance.

I was out doing things in the garden again today. There is always something to do. We have plans to re-do part of the garden so that will need clearing soon. We had a guy in who will do the paving we want. We need somewhere to sit out.

Have fun and run free.
