I have been avoiding this since August.

My phone works perfectly and there is only one risk to its performance.

Namely, allowing some software to upgrade the security that I have been told my phone has.

Google, Apple, whoever... They are all in line with their hands out as the government pays for names, numbers, and tracking info to link to their already huge data center in Utah.

Today I am updating because I am tired of the pop up asking. I expect that almost half of my apps will not function after this update. If they do still function, I expect that my phone will be much less secure than it was before.

I was about to hit the post button...

The September version of what I just installed! Nooo, it's a death loop of insecurity.

The tax laws never get less complicated.
and
Personal privacy and security never get better.
