Here we are only a few days out from the anniversary of 9-11. Last year on this date, Charlie Kirk was still alive, and then bang, months of controversy and conspiracy theories about secret plots being uncovered with slow motion video. Anyone posting on the physics of a tower falling were moved to page 72 of the social media news paper.
This year I see a lot of people bringing their 9-11 research to bear days early so that it can actually have an ear. I am waiting for something big that would keep anyone from talking about what our government allowed to be planned and executed on our soil.
Have you ever played the game Jenga, I think that's what it's called, but it's the one with the little wooden bricks that are all intertwined to look like a building. I played that once and I pulled a piece out of the brick of blocks about three quarters of the way up. I was the first one to go.
The person whose turn it was next was delayed and while we waited, we all marveled as the second floor of wooden bricks vaporized and the entire tower came down. The place where I removed my brick was falling at free-fall speed.
But almost nobody in today's world can see logic because we went from "hey Siri" to "hey Alexa", and now to "hey chat GPT" allowing devices that are programmed by programmers to do our thinking and research for us.
I have tried AI. I asked it to go check who voted on my post and I gave it the URL. It said, "I cannot do that. It would require installing a node to read the blockchain..."
I interrupted it to say, "Read the last line of the html of the page I sent you."
It still argued on the impossibility of my request.
Then I pasted the last line of the html and told AI some of the usernames of the voters.
"Oh, you are right!" it said.
It then could arrange the voters in a list format for me.
People are giving these chat bots some of our human tricks because we can think. We are teaching AI how to trick us. And if it does not trick us on its own, it will rely on its pre-programmed bent. China's has a communist bent, Hitler's has a Nazi bent, Israel's has an Israeli bent.
I expect that "how the winner is bent" will cause them to be able to pull more of the wool over our eyes for longer periods of time - next time. And AI will calm our fears by fact checking our suspicions and telling us that they are unfounded, "Relax, everything will be fine. Trust me!
Trust is earned - not taught. CNN blew the trust they had earned and now very few believe what they selectively present as 'news". AI is getting people's trust because it is fast at what it does. But just like a brown-noser, it will find out who it is talking to before it gives them the answer they want.
