Human beings aren’t solely attached to their loved ones, belongings, bank accounts, identities and statuses. They are also deeply attached to their worldviews.
My beliefs are mine, therefore they hold the irrefutable truth of the universe.
Don’t sit with us, if you don’t think like us, alright?

Well. I’m sorry to break it out to you mister-know-it-all, but there’s always two sides to a story. And when you’re stuck in the prison that is confirmation bias, you can’t open yourself up to hear what the other parties involved (a.k.a the other side of the story) have to say.

Look. I get it ok. That it feels hella fucking good to be right. Like crack cocaine good. But what is it worth to be right in your own mind, apart from your ego feeling like he’s on top of the world? Not much.

The truth is that we are wired to constantly be on the lookout to collect information that confirms our own littles narratives. We choose our friends and lovers because they fit with our pre existing sets of beliefs. On the other hand, we choose our haters because they don’t blend with the ideas in our mind of what it’s like to be a person worthy of our precious time, love and affection.

Our judgment is clouded because we don’t have the awareness necessary to detach ourselves from the stories playing inside our mind. The truth is that you could be the biggest douche in the universe, fuck people over whenever you feel like, lie like a maniac, treat them like shit, and still think of yourself as an inherently good guy because you -mister- chooses to disconfirm all the beliefs/opinions/remarks of others that don’t align with your superior fake-ass entitled sense of self. I mean, why feel like shit when you can throw shit onto others, right?

What’s worse is that some people live their whole lives through the shadows of deflection that they never realize just how delusional they have become. Just take ownership for your tinted bias glasses brother. You wear them, not me!

Confirmation bias works around the fucking clock. Man, he’s just such a busy guy! But hey, you gotta be careful with the guy. He needs constant validation. Like all your Fb friends who use their wall as a trophy table. Don’t you dare look away when he’s on your case ok? Because he’s gonna be up for a good debate I’ll tell you that.

So ya. Validation. Approval. Always needs to be right. Never wants to know the opposite side of any person/story/situation/ conflict/ cheating scandal.
You’re in it for a good ride! Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you!
(Now if you would just please shove the f*** out of your CB straight down your arse a.k.a Confirmation Bias you Cony Bastard!)

I dedicate the f*** out of this post to mister chekohler@chekohler who taught me more on echo chambers than anyone ever could. One love to my favorite sugarholic!
