Today, I came across a cream product company who is offering “Cocopeat Disc-Seeds” with the above nice lines printed on its sachet.
The company is giving away free sample seeds of “Aloevera” along-with the “Cocopeat Disc – Seeds” with its product, to encourage plantation among the customers by utilising the used Empty Cream cups.
What is Cocopeat Disc?
A Cocopeat Disc is a coir, or coir dust, which gives the alternative way for planting small plants in small pots.
So the next question arrives what is a Coir? To make the meaning more elaborate, I dig into Wikipedia to know about it:
It is a natural fibre extracted from the husk of coconut and used in products such as floor mats, doormats, brushes and mattresses. Coir is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut.

The innovative mind has come up with this beautiful idea to make the unused material into a productive purpose, and that too so nicely. This coir is made by mixing fertilisers and some manure to make the sapling and potting easy.
How to use Cocopeat Disc?
Cocopeat disc are very easy to use . Follow the simple steps to make your surrounding Green and beautiful by planting and sowing small seeds by using some unused small cups and pots.
- Place the coir in the unused cup or small pot
- Water the Coir and let it grow. Because of presence of manure and fertiliser the small coir will grow fully.
- Make a hole, and put the seed.
- Provide the pot with ample sunlight and keep it healthy, clean and safe to grow.
Cocopeat Disc as a promotion tool
The manufacturer of the Milk Cream promote its product by making people aware of the benefit of Cocopeat Coir seeds. It is nice and innovative gesture from the manufacturer to make people aware of the benefit of homesteading plant.
As a promotion tool, the manufactuerer is asking the customer to pot the sample seeds into the unused cup that will left spare. To make use of the cup, people can sow the seed in to the small cup using the Cocopeat disc coir. Thereby encouraging the people to plant more plant
I am really amazed by such an innovative means of promoting the product. Not only it make people familiar of the Greenary but also make people take interest in more Homestead Farming.
Great effort with a great motive.....Appreciated!!!
I have taken all the images from my mobile phone. The product were kept for display and also for sale.
