Midlife crisis, mental health challenges. Farther or two daughters and a rather fluffy dog. Photography (often forgetting the SD card!), motor sport, sim racing and food. Growing passion for history and tracing the family tree.

RE: A Sunday summary (a book and lots of food).

I'm not particularly imaginative but have needed to get a bit more creative with the price increases this last year. My sister has crazy skills. She can create something amazing with a random selection

RE: Digging up the past - playing detective (family history)

I plan to visit the Cambridgeshire Archives in Ely at some point - maybe over summer. That's where the genealogist managed to get to but then drew a blank. I need to read through their documentation on

RE: Sim Racing upgrade - adding VR (Meta Quest 2)

I find it much more exciting than when using a screen. As you mention, being able to look into a corner is a massive help. Unfortunately my graphic card although mighty powerful, struggles to cope when

RE: Meat reduction week

Absolutely, under 10 mins of preparation and about 7 mins to cook. I was honestly surprised how good it was. Would probably take some coconut milk or other simple sauce if a saucy curry is a preference.

RE: Meat reduction week

Cut a large head of broccoli into florets (cut large ones in half - you can also trim the stalk down and slice). Add to a pan of boiling water for around a minute - minute and a half. Drain. Slice paneer

RE: What I'm Watching: Late to Firefly

I've not been watching so may TV shows recently but have watched a few movies. I tend to go in fits and starts. I worked my way through Benidorm last I think, Colin from Accounts and the most recent series

I had a lovely clear drive home. Now enjoying a cold pilsner whilst planning my next feed - the Halloumi burger was marvellous! Was great to meet everyone - will try to not let so many years pass until

RE: Drizzle: July 22 2023

Great to meet you and Mia today. My step count is at 14,888 - the most exercise I've had in a long while. Made me feel less guilty about all the cheese I consumed.

RE: Merc my day

It all looks a little heavenly to me! I've been lucky enough to sit in a Maybach - they're something else! I'd love to go in an AMG SL63 - it's up there in my list of dream cars. I often drive Mercedes/AMG

I shall have a chat with Mrs N. when she's back from the gymnastics run, but will absolutely attempt to join you. It's about time we personally had a catch up and would be great to meet some Hive peeps

RE: Back to the gym

I have membership and only seem to go once in a while 😂. This week has been poor for it again as I've struggled to plan around kids clubs and work meetings. Hoping to escape later this afternoon.

RE: First beach visit of 2023

Yes, that's the one. The only thing that really sits between Caister and Yarmouth is the racecourse and a holiday camp. The race course used to be further south back in the 18th century. From this map
