Three posts in a week! I’m on a roll.
We had a break in the weather today. The weekend was fantastic but it looks like more rain in the forecast. Although with some health issues lately, my allergies have come back with a strength I haven’t felt in years. The gut is a sensitive organ! It was hard not to take an hour and go outside with the little one while @cmplxty was working. There was lots of good reason besides just the sun being out.
There’s been lots of really nice looking flowers sprouting up all around besides the ones we planted over the weekend. With the sprouting flowers, there’s lots of bees and bugs out and about taking in the harvest. It was nice explaining the bumble bees to him, showing the pollen on its legs and what the bees do for us and the food supply.
Was trying to take a picture of the water collecting in the flower cups. It’s rained a lot here lately so the flowers have had ample hydration. April showers bring May flowers as they say here in the States, or at least here in New England. Really liked these purple flowers, nice and big!
The little one is getting a lot better at his colors. He yelled with a lot of excitement when he spotted these yellow flowers. It’s a special time, with him enjoying so many of the things we don’t really take a second glance at as an adult.
He was ecstatic that we saw lots of bunnies. These things are flourishing by far here, there’s about 30 we’ve seen hopping around. His vision is a hell of a lot better than mine is, lol. He saw the second one far before I saw it, I thought he was making it up. Certainly not!
This was cool. I guess as an adult, I’ve never really taken a look at this but I had no idea these pine cones had a phase where they turned red! I was confused but I found a few examples of it starting out green then more where they were transitioning to red. The things you learn when you’ve got lots of time at home, and have a toddler who asks you every 30 seconds ‘what’s that?’
When @cmplxty was done with work, the munchkin told him that he wanted to have a picnic. We thought it was going to involve blankets, grass and the river. Not on his mind! Just the snacks, some chalk and the pavement in front of our car lol. It was cute to watch but damn did he eat more in the damn picnic than he does when he’s in the house! Little stink. Maybe that means we will just have to do more picnics then!
Take care and stay positive!
